ENTERTAINING: Keep Foods Cool Outdoors

Necessity is the mother of invention, and Jack French came up with an idea to keep the perishable foods cool that he and his wife Linda set out for their backyard picnics and barbecues. Now, French’s Tabletop Cooler is an easy way to prevent foodborne illnesses from ruining your outdoor soirees. Along the concept of an inflatable kiddie pool, the table-size, heavy duty plastic liner is set atop a picnic table, folding table or whatever you use as a buffet, and filled with ice. Set onto the ice the platters and bowls of potato salad, fried chicken, cold cuts and other foods that should be kept cool. You don’t have to run back and forth to the kitchen to refill chilled foods from the fridge. French’s Tabletop Cooler can also be used as a beverage table—more user-friendly than the cooler or trash can approach. It’s $39.95 plus $12.99 shipping at
